Gemini 4 Argon expands across paid APIs, Pro/Ultra subscriptions and Copilot
Google is widening Gemini 4 Argon’s paid API and subscription access, while GitHub begins a gradual rollout to selected Copilot plans. Eligibility and billing differ by entry point, and introductory API prices expire.

Google announced wider Gemini 4 Argon access on October 13. Developers can use the paid Gemini API tier through AI Studio and Android Studio; Google AI Ultra subscribers can use it in AI Studio and Antigravity; Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can use it in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. Access remains subject to the availability of each underlying product, account and region.
The public-access API model has introductory prices of US$2 per million input tokens and US$10 per million output tokens, with a 95% cached-input discount, equivalent to US$0.10 per million at the current rate. Tokens measure the content a model processes and generates. Google’s footnote says the introductory period expires on November 30, 2026, after which input and output prices become US$4 and US$20 per million. It does not specify the subsequent cached-input rate in that footnote.
GitHub separately announced a gradual Argon rollout for Copilot Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise. Supported entry points include VS Code, Copilot CLI, the coding agent and other supported clients. Organization and enterprise model policies still control access, and users without the option may be awaiting rollout. GitHub’s pricing table currently lists the same input, cached-input and output rates, with promotional pricing stated to run until December 1. Usage-based billing is accounted for in AI credits and depends on plan allowances.
The practical change is a wider set of routes into Argon. Google subscription eligibility, API token charges and GitHub plan allowances belong to their respective channels; one subscription should not be read as covering every call. The announcements also do not provide a complete per-product country list or numerical consumer quotas, so they do not establish unlimited access for every account and region.
