Google Cloud Model Garden adds OpenAI models, claiming sole hyperscaler with Gemini, Claude, and OpenAI

Google Cloud says GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, and GPT-6 Luna are rolling out in Model Garden private preview for select enterprises, billed via Marketplace against existing GCP commitments; it claims to be the only hyperscaler offering all three leading closed LLMs, with Gemini for Business and Antigravity coming soon.

On Oct 21, 2026, Google Cloud said it is launching OpenAI models in Google Cloud’s Model Garden. The post lists three models for enterprise workloads: GPT-6 Astra for demanding work across coding, computer use, professional tasks, and scientific research; GPT-6.1 Sol for near-Astra intelligence at lower cost across agentic coding, computer use, and professional work; and GPT-6 Luna as a fast, cost-efficient model for everyday work at scale. Customers can dynamically select and swap models by performance, latency, and cost without architectural lock-in or separate vendor contracts, Google Cloud writes.

Google Cloud claims it is now the only hyperscale cloud provider offering access to all three leading closed-source LLMs alongside more than 200 first-party, third-party, and open models on one enterprise AI platform. Because OpenAI models are transacted through Google Cloud Marketplace, usage appears on a single Google Cloud invoice, draws down existing cloud commitments, and counts toward Flexible Savings Plans across model providers. On governance, Google Cloud says prompts, context, and outputs remain within the customer’s data perimeter and are not used to train foundation models, with Zero Data Retention options coming soon; models run on dedicated Google Cloud infrastructure with isolated gateways and unified auditing and identity.

Availability: GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, and GPT-6 Luna are rolling out now in private preview to select enterprise customers in Model Garden, with APIs available today and local Codex CLI and Desktop workflows connectable to Google’s Gemini platform for inference; interest can be registered via a form. OpenAI models will also be available soon in Gemini for business and Google Antigravity, the post says. THE DECODER’s same-day report restates the “only major provider with Gemini, Claude, and OpenAI” framing and the three-model/private-preview/single-bill points.
