ChatGPT voice connects to plugins and Work, with tasks continuing in text
ChatGPT voice can use available plugins and connected apps, and accept document, spreadsheet or presentation tasks in Work. Tasks can continue in text after a call, under existing plan and app permissions.

OpenAI's September 23 ChatGPT release notes announced support for account-available plugins and connected apps in voice conversations across the web, iOS and Android. Users can invoke functions while speaking that previously required a return to text chat, while responses also remain in the conversation as text.
The same update adds voice to Work. Users can dictate requests to create documents, presentations and spreadsheets, or ask it to use connected apps or operate a browser. Unfinished work can continue in text after the call ends, making speech the beginning of a working process rather than a separate question-and-answer session.
The new entry point keeps existing plan and app permissions. Free and Go users in Chat can use only plugins supported by their plans; voice in Work requires access to both Voice and Work. Whether an app is connected, which material it can read or change, and its usage limits continue to follow existing settings.
