Facebook rolls out Your algorithm for topic and plain-language recommendation controls
Facebook is adding topic management and written feedback so users can directly explain what they want more or less of. Meta says recommendations can change within the same session, but has not detailed the full rollout.

Meta announced Your algorithm for Facebook on October 13. Through a post’s three-dot menu, users can add and manage topics they want to see in Feed and Reels. This adds a direct way to express content preferences alongside behavioral signals such as likes, comments and viewing.
After someone selects Interested or Not interested, Facebook may ask why, allowing them to explain their preferences in their own words. Meta says large language models combine the interests, context and intent in that text to adjust recommendations within the same session. This is the company’s product-performance claim; it has not been independently tested for this report.
The feature is still rolling out. The announcement does not specify countries, languages, account requirements or a completion date, nor does it establish control over ads or every ranking signal. Users who receive the option can refine Feed and Reels through topics and text feedback; not seeing it yet does not establish that an account is ineligible.
