Gemini 4 Argon opens in stages, starting with trusted cyber defenders
Google’s new model starts with trusted cyber defenders through Fairwind, with paid API and AI Ultra access planned later. Announced introductory API prices are $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.

Google announced Gemini 4 Argon with initial access through Fairwind for trusted cyber defenders, targeting complex coding, professional work and long, multi-step defensive tasks. It says the model is participating in the US government's pre-release access process, with safeguards strengthened through early testing. The announcement does not promise immediate access for ordinary developers, enterprises or consumers.
The introductory API price is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached input 95% cheaper than standard input. This describes pricing for a future rollout. Google says wider availability will begin with paid API customers and Google AI Ultra subscribers, but does not provide a complete timetable for all users. Announced prices and actual permission to call the model remain different facts.
Google says the model can find, verify and repair software vulnerabilities and improves coding, finance and legal tasks. Some defensive partners and internal teams will use a version without cybersecurity safeguards, while anti-abuse protections, prompt-injection defenses, misalignment monitoring and isolation continue to be strengthened for broader release. These capabilities and protections are vendor reports that AiEvent has not independently tested. Arrangements for selected trusted users do not imply a universal removal of constraints.
