Google launches Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash: videos up to 15 seconds, 30% cheaper, now generally available

Google DeepMind introduced Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash on 5 November and made Gemini Omni generally available for the first time, across the Gemini API and Gemini for business. It supports native 15-second video and multi-turn conversational editing, and costs 30% less than Omni 1.1 at $0.07 per second for 720p.

Google says clip length rises from 10 seconds in Omni 1.1 to 15, adjustable from 3 to 15 seconds in one-second steps. Generation can combine character, product or style images, motion clips of up to three seconds and audio cues, keeping faces, garments, packaging typography and brand colors consistent across camera angles; the same 15-second clip can also be refined turn by turn in conversation, for example swapping the product, background, lighting, weather or aspect ratio, without regenerating it.

On cost, Google says the price is 30% lower than Omni 1.1, at $0.07 per second for 720p video. The workflow is to draft quickly at 360p or 720p, fix details with a follow-up edit, then upscale to 1080p or 4K. Google also claims more natural speech, clearer lip-sync for multiple speakers and fewer unwanted jump cuts in camera moves.

This is the first time Gemini Omni is generally available, backed by Google Cloud’s enterprise infrastructure, with Provisioned Throughput and an imperceptible SynthID watermark on outputs. Google acknowledges that fast sports action, rapid script changes and complex physics are still being improved. The effects described are the vendor’s own claims.
