Tencent Yuanqi to shut down on November 9; users need to export data and migrate agents

Tencent Yuanqi will shut down on November 9, 2026, taking existing agents offline. Official backup and migration guidance is available, but moving to Tencent Cloud ADP requires some settings to be rebuilt manually.

In a notice dated October 8, 2026, the Yuanqi team attributes the closure to a business adjustment. From October 29, users will no longer be able to create agents or obtain newly distributed API keys. Existing agents can keep running until the shutdown.

On November 9, public services including application access, data reads and writes, API calls and the console will close, and agent pages will become unavailable. Agents published through Yuanqi to WeChat public accounts, service accounts and customer-service channels will also stop responding.

Before shutdown, users can export conversation records, knowledge bases, workflows and Widgets within Yuanqi. Tencent plans a separate export console for applications after shutdown, but has yet to announce when it will open. From January 9, 2027, export applications will no longer be accepted and user-data deletion will begin, except for logs and other records that must be retained by law. Backups must be completed before that date.

Tencent recommends its cloud Agent Development Platform (ADP) for building agents, using knowledge bases and publishing across channels. Knowledge bases, workflows and Widgets from the newer Yuanqi version can be imported module by module; agent settings and custom tools require manual configuration. Older-version workflows cannot be exported and must be rebuilt from their original logic, while knowledge bases must be uploaded again. Migrated agents also need to be republished to their intended channels.

ADP offers a different selection of official models and plugins. Missing plugins need replacements, and users must switch to supported models and retest results. Historical WeChat public-account articles do not sync automatically to ADP: users must import them and attach the knowledge base. For article-based answers within public accounts, the notice also recommends WeChat’s smart-reply feature, which can sync articles and accept custom prompts.

Migrating users can claim an ADP free-use allowance within its stated entitlements and vouchers for paid plans. Each Tencent Cloud account can claim each voucher type once; renewals revert to the regular price. Users who bought Tencent Cloud resource packages through the older Yuanqi entry point and still have unused resources or an account balance at shutdown can request a refund from Tencent Cloud. The system calculates it from actual usage and returns it to the original payment account.
