Apple’s two tracks: China Apple Intelligence clearance, and App Review bans on AI nudify
Cook said Apple Intelligence is cleared in China, with a late-October beta still without the new Siri; the same week App Review guidance explicitly targets AI nudify and bait-and-switch hiding. Feature rollout and store red lines moved together—follow them separately.
Cook confirmed Apple Intelligence is approved in China and that the late-October beta still excludes the new Siri. China-region Apple Intelligence will follow local compliance timing; it is not the same as saying a global new-Siri redo is already in that test build.
Apple the same week updated App Review guidance to hit AI nudify and bait-and-switch hidden features. For developers that is a listing/remediation rule; for users it shrinks how long such apps can remain on the Store. Together with China clearance it is an Apple-rules week—one track opens capabilities, the other tightens bans.
