X combines Grok, Cursor and X from $8, with shared limits and permanent migration

The X Subscription combines Grok, Cursor and X benefits from US$8 a month. First-party usage is shared weekly, third-party Cursor models cost extra, and existing users can stay put, but switching is permanent.

Engadget reported on The X Subscription on October 13. Current official monthly individual list prices are US$8 for Plus, US$30 for Premium, US$100 for Super and US$200 for Ultra, before applicable taxes and fees. The bundle brings selected Grok, Cursor and X benefits onto one bill, with features varying by tier; X benefits require a connected personal X account. The available public material does not establish the scheme’s first launch date.

The allowance structure matters to the real cost. Each paid seat has one weekly pool shared across eligible first-party Grok and Cursor usage, rather than a separate full allowance for each product. Activities consume it at different rates; users can wait for a reset or buy top-ups after it runs out. Current official Premium, Super and Ultra allowances are 4, 15 and 50 times Plus respectively, but the sources do not specify one fixed message or token budget that applies to every task.

Third-party Cursor models such as Claude and GPT remain available, but are outside the included allowance. They are charged at API list prices from the first call, against prepaid credit. Grok Bot is included from the US$30 monthly Premium tier upward, not in Plus, and draws from the same seat’s weekly pool rather than adding a separate allowance.

Existing users can keep their current plans, prices and features; migration is optional. However, the official documentation says combining accounts and subscriptions is permanent and support cannot undo it. Eligible individuals and self-serve teams can switch, while enterprise customers, legacy request-based plans and organization-managed X accounts face distinct restrictions. Not every account can be directly combined.

Legacy billing needs attention when switching. Eligible direct subscriptions are generally canceled at checkout with a prorated refund for unused time, while the new plan is charged in full and starts a new billing cycle immediately. Cursor bought through Apple’s App Store is an important exception: migration does not cancel or refund it. Users must cancel separately in iPhone or iPad Settings to stop Apple billing, and request any refund from Apple.
