World unveils World ID for banking and finance at Money20/20

In a 18 Oct 2026 blog post, World said co-founder Alex Blania unveiled World ID for banking and finance at Money20/20 in Las Vegas—a suite of the World ID app, Agents credential delegation, and Zoom human checks—while its finance solutions page describes account opening, recovery and high-risk use cases.

World’s same-day blog says co-founder Alex Blania unveiled “World ID for banking and finance” at Money20/20 in Las Vegas and describes the suite as now available to institutions. It has three parts: the World ID app for storing and presenting Proofs; World ID for Agents, which lets a person delegate credentials to an AI agent (AgentKit is still called beta in the post); and World ID for Zoom for checking that a video participant is a verified human. Design partners are Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital and VanEck Funds. Note: the English main-path slug returned HTTP 404; this piece uses the still-reachable Korean-locale URL whose body is in English.

The official post describes the Zoom flow: Orb verification once, connect World ID to Zoom, then a live selfie match that shows a Human Badge; hosts will soon be able to require checks in a waiting room, and any participant can request one mid-call. It does not say “generally available.” Separately, Unchained reports that World said World ID for Zoom is generally available after an April limited beta and frames the check as comparing the Orb enrollment image, a live selfie and the meeting video; that GA wording is not repeated in the same-day official blog captured here. Unchained also quotes Sandro Herbig of Tools for Humanity on enterprises asking individuals for Proofs to cut fraud and raise trust. Neither source named a bank customer or gave pricing or a rollout timeline.

World’s financial-services page frames the product for account opening, digital-banking access, recovery and high-risk activity, stating institutions receive only anonymous cryptographic Proofs and signals and that World ID does not replace KYC or ownership checks. The product page and same-day blog align on positioning; whether Zoom has left beta for general availability rests on Unchained’s secondary report and is labeled as such in the body.
