Community project DS Bot previews multi-Bot collaboration and persistent memory

The community project DS Bot has released its first public preview, version 0.1.0. It adds teams of Bots with persistent memory, group chats and scheduled tasks to DeepSeek Harness. Users must configure their own models and cover usage costs.

Each Bot can have its own role, instructions and model, with memory across conversations. A main Bot can create and configure other members and organize group chats. The group administrator answers by default and calls on members as needed; users can also address a Bot with @. Long conversations are condensed or continued with a handoff summary, while older records remain searchable.

The release also lists one-off and recurring scheduled tasks, web search, and an initial GitHub connector that provides repository, issue and pull-request tools after the user supplies a GitHub token.

Users must first install DeepSeek Harness and configure at least one model, then add the ds-bot plugin. The documented desktop platforms are Windows and macOS; the web version also supports Linux and requires Node.js 22.19 or later and pnpm. A mainland China package mirror is available as an installation option.

The source code uses the Apache 2.0 licence, but running Bots consumes the user’s own model quota. Multi-member group chats can substantially increase token use and costs. The usage page breaks down tokens by Bot, model and time, without calculating monetary charges.

The browser feature is currently desktop-only. Bots can read the content of an open page but cannot click, type, scroll or open addresses themselves. DSH Web has neither this browser panel nor its page-reading tool.

Credential handling has explicit limitations: saved secrets are unencrypted, and masking in tool results and model requests covers only exact matches. Encoded or split values can still leak. Entering a secret through a non-HTTPS web page also sends it across the network in clear text.

This is FeiZhuLulu’s independent community project, with no affiliation, endorsement or sponsorship from DeepSeek. The developer tested it with DSH 0.2.1-alpha.1, mainly on Linux and in DSH Web. DSH remains in alpha, updates may break the plugin, and the plugin’s features and data format may still change.
